The famous planetary in Vela, the Eight Burst Planetary or Southern Ring Nebula is not as beautiful as in the HST picture. The unreal resolution and the colors make the Hubble image so very good. These are unfortunately not visible in the telescope. Nevertheless this is a beautiful planetary. Slight brightness differences are visible in the ring. The inside of the ring is bright as well. And the star in the middle (not the central star) is extremely bright. Three lobes of the halo can be seen. These are very faint.

It is probably the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) image that comes to one's mind when talking about NGC 3132. This photograph meant the main motivation to take a look at the Eight Burst Planetary Nebula. It can be seen that the HST picture and the look in the telescope are not that close to each other in this case.
