I like the central part of Auriga very much. Besides the huge Messier open clusters many tiny but spectacular open clusters and a variety of diffuse nebulae are hiding here. This is a very suitable place for small aperture wide field drawings where you can compose beautiful fields like this one. A tiny gem, NGC 1907 is hiding in the shadows of M 38. The small open cluster is elogated but shows no signs of resolution due to the small enlargement. Two diffuse nebulae fit into the field: the compact and brighter NGC 1931 and the bigger but still not that faint IC 417.
