NGC 5426-27 is another galaxy pair in Virgo, which is also easily accessible from the north, but I drew it from the south. I took a look at them from Ágasvár and the details were very difficult to see, the picture didn't really come together. Not so from Namibia. Both galaxies are relatively bright. The upper one (NGC 5427) is a little brighter - 12.0m -, the lower one in my drawing, NGC 5426, is 12.7m.
Interestingly, there is only one bright star in the frame of the drawing. I was struggling for about a quarter of an hour in the hope of seeing more stars but nothing showed up. So this turned out to be one of the few drawings of mine that have more galaxies than stars. It is incredible that the bright star is only 14.4m (rather faint than bright).
NGC 5427 is incredibly detailed. Perhaps the most exciting details are the dark bands in the inner contrasting halves of the arms and the distinct bright spot to the right. There is a faint star that I could not see separately that is adding to the bridge connecting the two galaxies.
NGC 5426 is less detailed, but I have no reason to complain here either. The right half shows more contrast and a brighter thread is visible towards the star. The spiral structure is much more subdued but it is still visible.

On the left is an image taken with the VIMOS (Visible Multi-Object Spectrograph) detector mounted on the 8.2m UT3 Melipal unit of the VLT (Very Large Telescope) next to my rotated and cropped drawing.
The live view through the telescope doesn't match the beauty of the system in the photo but I really have no reason to complain.
